This scam starts as a pop-up on your computer stating that the computer has detected several viruses that will cause damage to your computer. It then pops ups showing a scan that is "detecting" lots of viruses on your computer. My "scan" showed 38 "problems" on my computer. The screen then pops up with a request that you clean your computer. It then states that your anti-virus software has expired and asks you to purchase several options from one year of service to lifetime - ranging from 59.99 to 79.99.
If you put your credit card or bank card information in it will charge your card 99.99 and not the 59.99 you select. You do get a print out confirmation with a phone number and confirmation number - however - the phone number is bogus. No answer and no automated answering system to guide you to anyone. If you try to find the software on your computer - it is not there. If you run Malware - it will detect a Trojan Horse virus that says - Fake virus alert - and it will remove it. By then your card is charged and you can't find the people who ripped you off. The product is called "System Tool 2011"
