I filed an online complaint against MCI Worldcom Wireless, and it was forwarded to the BBB in Natick, MA. It was regarding a complaint that I posted here some hours ago.

Basically, MCI Worldcom Wireless screwed me (and numerous others apparently) on my contract by not billing me for several months, and then finally sending a bill with past due charges on it. To this day I have not received any detail as to what I am being billed for.

I was told by the sales rep. to not pay the invoice until I have received a corrected invoice which to this day I have not received, I was charged for numerous items that were supposed to be included in my contract and numerous other offenses.

They sent me a letter, requesting that I send in 2 copies of my contract as well as any other information that I received from Worldcom Wireless. I was given a deadline which I complied with, and making all of the copies cost me about $20.

Well, when I checked the status of my complaint online, it said that my case had been closed BEFORE THE DEADLINE THAT THEY GAVE ME! When I emailed them to find out why, they stated that Worldcom had called me to offer to waive my roaming charges for 1 month only, and I since I refused, there was nothing further that they could do.

According to my contract, those fees were not valid anyway. If I was not supposed to pay for them to begin with, why would I finally agree to pay the outrageous amounts they are attempting to extort from me without any explanation or detail, so long as they waive 1 month of fees that were invalid from the beginning.

Well, this is copied from their email responding to my question.

There is nothing else the BBB can do. If you are not satisfied with the resolution of the complaint in question, you will need to contact the Federal Communications Commission-Public Srvce Division @ 445 12 I Street SW, Washington, DC 20554 202.418.0190

Is it a computer generated response, or did the person who composed the email not have the nerve to put their name on it? I am so frustrated with both of them right now. I need to research it more.

Isn't it false advertising for them to list "Fairness in the Marketplace"? It probably isn't because the text following it "but not for the consumer" is in a white font.

STOP! ..before you think about using the Better Business Bureau (BBB)... CLICK HERE to see how other consumers were victimized by the BBB's false or misleading information. Don't be fooled! It has been reported, when there are thousands of complaints and other investigations underway by authorities, the BBB has no choice but to finally give an UNsatisfactory rating to a BBB member business that is paying the BBB big membership fees every year. When a business is reported that is NOT a BBB member, BBB files WILL more likely show an UNsatisfactory rating, then reportedly shake down that company to become a member of the BBB. One positive thing about the BBB is, either way, if a business has an unsatisfactory rating with the BBB, you can be sure, the business is bad. But what about all those BBB member businesses that had complaints filed against them? Consumers never get to hear about them. What about the BBB advertising to the public? Is this a false and misleading perception they are giving about consumer confidence when dealing with a business? Click here to understand more of what consumers and business alike are saying about the BBB. You decide. ..Remember. The BBB membership is not earned, it's paid for!
