Complaint Review: Bill Heard Chevrolet (Orlando Florida) - Sanford Florida

This might come as a shocker to some of you, others you might have had a same case with a different dealer and might be able to help, and to the others that have worked at the dealer of Bill Heard Chevrolet in Sanford, go to hell!!!!

Dont be fooled into thinking that a used car from a dealer is a "Good Deal". The next time you do happen to purchase a used car or truck, make sure that you have a writen agreement that the car was never in an accsadent before you even think about buying that car! The case in which I write here is no joke, this has cost me money that at age 20 I do not have!

I always had wanted a Camaro from the first time I saw one, I might of been 6 at a car show with my father, well I turned 19 in Aug of 2001 and had a truck to trade in oh a new Camaro SS. Well as any dealer is they didnt have a new SS or even a Z28 so I asked if they had any used ones. We went over to the used lot and sure enough they had a 2001 (used) SS so I said try and get me into this car, the first time the sales persone came back he shook his head, and said that you probably cant afford what we came out with. I asked him to go back to who ever gave him this price and work something out. The price they came back with was around $650 a month for 72 months! Now I really wanted this car, and I was willing to pay $450 a month for it, but there was no way in hell &650! As time went on and the price didnt fall, they turned my attention to a 2000 Z28, had all the same options other them the SS package. I said sure why not its at least a Z28.

By this time my father was there with me, he was the co-signer on the car, because at 19 who had good credit right? so my father liking cars just as much as I, asked the car questions. Has it had its oil changes on time everytime, Now we asked about 4 questions, one being has the car ever been in a acident before?

They said no. Not that I did not aggree with them but I probably should of got a CAR-FAX from them. so they came back with a price that I would pay on the car, if I never missed a day of work. 4 months last I was outside looking at the car and noticed that the hood and front bumper had a gap between them. Not just a miss alignment gap either, I'm talking about a 3 inch gap!

My best friend was over with me that day and said, hey for shits why not run a CAR-FAX, sure why not. The report came back that the 2000 Z28 had a front end impact. The next day we were on the phone with Bill Heard! Now the phone calls and weekly trips went on for about a month and a half, untill I got fedup and contacted Channel 9 news in Orlando about Bill Heard.

Now Bill Heard had out full attention at this point,(now remember that we did have a virbil agrement with Heard on the condition of this car, that is was not damaged before our purchase!) but they still wouldnt make a deal, we had the south-east sales manager down there with us on this at this time, but still nothing! Ch. 9 News had our car taken to a body shop for a damage est.

what came back, "ON TAPE" was shocking to the point it wasnt funny anymore! The mechanic told us that the only orignal parts still left on the car was the drivers side door and rear fender, all the rest was replaces 85% of my car was totaled, and to make things worse, the FRAME WAS "STILL" TWISTED!!! The mechanic gave us a name of a good laywer in Orlando and we called him, to find out Bill Heard has had, fron this Laywer, at least 100 Suits against them sense they have been in Orlando. (about 4 years now I think)

In May we filed a Arbertration with Bill Heard, in the meeting they offered me $1400, or to pay off my car, but with Bill Heard keeping the car after they pay it off. We spent 4 hours in the room with Heard Laywers, and they wouldnt make a deal on anything!

We are now on the waiting list for a Suit with them which we will be trying to get the price of the car back as well as the defference between what I payed and what it was worth, and amount of money it would cost to have the car repaired, tax, intrest on the loan, my extended warr. which come to find out is illegal for them to sale to a consumer if a car has been damaged before, my down payment ($2000), some little odds and ends here and there, and inside of this suit will also be a punitave damages cost, which has not yet been determined.

I want to say wo anyone that wants to buy a car or truck from Bill Heard in any state, you will be making the biggest mistake of your live!

Now just think the hole car has been rebuilt at this point, and think if I was to get into an acident with this car and the air bag didnt go off.. or even worse my 23 month old son is with me and the seatbelts dont hold up, I think my little case in which all I wanted was a different car then a junker, would be a major lawsuit that you would see on CNN!
