Blackwater Consulting Group under the direction of Art Lusby formerly know as Compass purportedly is a for fee $400.00+ per month lead generation service.  They skillfully talk up their services and promise real and tangible sales results.

Nothing could be further from the truth.  The so-called leads are GIGO aka garbage; the leads are not qualified, not targeted to client specifics and a waste of money.  Lusby will talk about how the leads come with a phone number and name, duh, that qualifies a lead.  It is rumored that they use a reply.com model to generate their so called leads, that I cannot confirm.

They originally offered their service on a trial basis, 30 days and if you are not satisfied you could terminate with no financial obligation.  Lusby when asked why they dropped that and locked unsuspecting realtors into a 120 day minimum, simply responds that they need time to cultivate the lead process.  Cultivate what exactly, wrongly targeted demographics, wrong phone numbers, incorrect e-mail addresses.

Well that is what you can look forward to.

BCG used to be know as compass but they replaced that name due to the poor client feedback on their services they provided, namely SEO.  Now they operate under a different name, BCG, but it is the same nonsense. I would strongly recommend that any realtor look at different options to grow their business and not nake the financially costly mistake I made by contracting with Blackwater CG.

#2REBUTTAL Owner of company

Thu, October 04, 2012

The party who wrote this complaint is unknown to us, but many of his "facts" are just plain wrong. First, Art Lusby is our representative, not the owner. Second, his anger should be directed at Compass Internet Systems, which was a company we consulted for five years. Compass refused our advice, handled all money matters, was responsible for all guarantees, and was owned by R. Sean Hogan, of Orinda CA. Hogan closed the company without warning in March of 2011; leaving clients and us owed hundreds of thousands of dollars.  18 Months later, he and his wife declared personal bankruptcy.

Blackwater made the decision to continue providing the services Compass had promised but to do so in spec with our previously ignored recommendations to Compass. We discontinued 30 day trial subscriptions. We attempted to contact all Compass clients, without success as we were shut out of our own CRM tool by Mr. Hogan. We ended up with about 30% of the clients, as Compass shut off our access to the database, our offices, and all monies collected or owed.

Thus, all I can say is that this complaint is Compass generated; we have a policy of working with our clients and solving their problems, if they have any. Our leads are not all great ones, but a high percentage of them are good ones. Also, no lead is worth spit if not properly followed up on, and although we provide training materials on how to do those things, many people choose not to follow that advice. It's unavoidable: some people do fail, but most of those who do do not follow up as assiduously as necessary; those most successful do as we recommend.

We have many happy customers and would welcome your inquiry should you have further information or questions. We are sorry for any bad experiences people may have had with previous management and do our best to respect and service our clients properly. We have many supporters.
