Hello, everything above is exactly as it happened with me. It was always busy when I went in and he [Tom Lamers]produced "questionable" books for me and my wife. He was vague in his answers to our questions and always seemed rushed. He never returned our phone calls after we had our attorney contact him about the previous four years tax and PnL (Profit & Loss records for the quarters)records. The Bank we were with Bank One were curious about an apparent six months missing from his records! We did a title search and it came up clear, the ONLY REASON we didn't buy it is because my wife said she had a real uneasy feeling about Tom Lamers when she first met him. I didn't want to listen to her and now I'm thanking God I did. She apparently had a sixth sense about his lying, cheating, and stealing ways and we walked away from it. We put our money into a 4-bedroom apartment building instead. This joker also repeatedly brought up how he was a Harvard graduate. He in reality was a pompous a*s! I cannot believe he got away with duping someone else. I informed the Better Business Bureau about him and even wrote a letter to the attorney general's office. Obviously it didn't prevent it from happening to you. If you decide to sue him please contact me as I would be happy to be a witness. It did fold up shortly after 'new management' and we were surprised. I'm sorry it happened to you. A word to the wise out there - a franchise is only as good as the honesty of the people behind it, the name means nothing! Blimpie is a crooked corporation based in Georgia and when we contacted them to report Tom Lamers - they told us he was a big earner in Columbus and didn't really care how he handled business. Apparently he is in charge of twenty-some Blimpie stores in Ohio. I guess they like having their lying, coniving, tax cheat working for them. Screw Blimpie - it's an ugly thing. Pete.
