Blue Hippo Funding Ripoff Failure to disclose and adequately terminate order Baltimore Maryland
My husband ordered an IBM computer from Blue Hippo. On the same day, I called to find out how much tne computer cost so that we can determine if we were getting a good deal. The sales person said that they could not tell me that - saying the final price is all inclusive (financing,shipping,etc). They told me to call Customer Service, who told me that they could not tell me. I told them that under law (at least Georgia) they have to disclose that information. Customer Service told me that I would have to call their Audit Department, I discovered that he gave me a fax number and not a phone number. I told him that I did not want the computer if they were not going to disclose this information. I followed up the same day with an email to their web site.
They did not cancel the order and they debited my account for $124. They informated me that I can not get my money back, and they will not ship the computer per my instruction. They cite that the contract was binding at te point of original acceptance. She said that I can not cancel via writting, but we were not informed of cancelation policy. The policy is to take you through a process of reducing the price by $10. The computer she tried to sell was to be the same computer; however, it turned out to be a Gateway and not an IBM. They take your money, rob you of interest, and create a situation that they say you can not get out of, assuming you do not have choices. Once I indicated that I did not want the computer, the order should have been canceled. Once I emailed them to cancel the computer, I should have been contacted. At no time were we told that we could not cancel the offer.

Blue Hippo debited our checking account again!

On 11/19 Blue Hippo debited our checking account again. This is after following their cancellation policy and after attempting to place a stop payment for all Blue Hippo transactions from my bank. My bank is investigating.
