I worked for Blue Lion for two weeks  last summer.  Made a sale, but the guy training me took credit for it.  Was sent to a crackwhore infested motel in Columbia, SC put in a room with two other guys, and the room only had two beds!  Still dont know which guy I was supposed to share a bed with because I left and came home! Columbia is a four hour drive from Raleigh, NC...I was given a 25$ gas card, which paid my way there but I had to pay my own way home.  The base pay is based on number of sales, so its no base pay at all!  For two 40 hour weeks I was paid ZERO!  Dont work for these guys...they will rip you off!

I have to agree with this guy because I also worked @ Blue Lion Marketing and they make it out to be that it will be a great opportunity for you and that you can become a team leader if you do this and that and this and that and then when you do what is asked of you they take their sweet time on things, this job was rather hard especially considering if you didn't sell anything that day you just wasted 10 hours and were not compensated for none of it. Having a family and doing this job does not mix I hardly ever got to see my family and it really wasn't not worth all of the stress that comes along with the employment. AT&T has a bad reputation for how they have treated their customers in the past and no one wants to take a chance with them again, then if they do most people pulled a $400-$800 deposit which is ridiculous for cable, home phone and internet service if you ask me.  Correct me if i'm wrong, but the person you are talking about I think his name was Ron, that was training people and taking there commission was also fired Feb 2011 for having another person  he knew out in the field making him commission that wasn't even part of the Blue Lion Marketing team.. now I do have to say one good thing Manny was a great manager and tried to keep everyone motivated even though it was hard to keep me motivated I continued to push... I only stuck around for about a month until I realized it wasn't getting me anywhere besides wasting gas and time when I could have been looking for another job, everyone was very negative all the time always bitching and moaning about how they hated it or how the territory they were assigned was bullshit or how the person they were teamed up with wasn't someone they liked or whatever... All i'm saying is if you this about getting a job for this company think long and hard about it!!!!

These rebuttals do nothing to address the specific allegations which I have set forth against the company.  At&t could care less how the employees of a hired marketing firm which goes door to door for them are treated, and its my guess that they have no idea.    The supposed hourly base is a commission based on number of sales. My commission was stolen from me by the guy who was supposed to train me.  I was never paid a dime for the weeks I worked there.  I was sent to a crack w***e infested motel and expected to share a bed with another guy.  I was only compensated for my expenses at the rate of 50 % when it came to gasoline.  And my complaints were made known to Travis the night I was sent to Columbia SC.  Hey Blue Lion, if you'd like me to shut up, you know who I am.  Make it right with me or Ill continue to speak about you until the cows come home!  You cant cover up or deny the truth.  People who are seeking honest employment deserve to know what they are up against!  If you screw people, you cant expect them to stay quiet about it!  Thank God for web sites like this!

I Would Like To Clear Up Some Things

#4UPDATE Employee

Wed, May 12, 2010

I would like to make sure that anyone looking at this report and reports like these are able to discern the truth from a single opinion. Hopefully anyone who is relying on a first impression on the company from internet blogs would do research on the site that allows just anyone to post comments like these.

I would like to apologize for anyone who received the wrong impression from the company. We have not been made aware of any of these complaints until they were posted on this site. Unfortunately, not everyone is going to be happy with our company and we understand that especially during these difficult economic times that our country is under. We also understand the hard work candidates are puttinf into finding satisfying employment and when they finally find something that doesn't exactly match their expectations how upsetting that can be.

Anyone that has any questions about our business practices can be assured that we are not trying to scam or con anyone. Our primary client right now is AT&T. Everyone knos the reputation that AT&T carries, and rest assured that they would not put their name in jeopardy with a company with ill intentions bringing down their good name.

Also keep in mind, as outlined on our website, we are a new and upcoming small company. Therefore, we don't conduct business like a corporation like AT&T and not even like McDonalds. We are a privately owned and operated firm, not a franchise.

It would be greatly appreciated that if any of our candidates have any questions that they would take a look at our website, www.bluelionmarketing.com. We also structure our interview so that anyone who wants to speak face-to-face with our interviewing manager can and will. During our second round interview you are able to live a day in the life of a Blue Lion Marketing employee before your final decision is made to ensure that you are clear on how our company operates.

Once again I would like to apologize on behalf of the company for anyone who has been upset.

If Travis really does care, it doesnt show.  Address the specific allegations that have been put forth!  The base pay is truly based upon sales and it is less than the commission.  I was sent to a crack w***e infested motel in Columbia SC, and I was expected to share a bed with another man.  My sale was stolen by my trainer.  I was paid ZERO dollars.  These facts cannot be disputed.  If that's care, it is from a snake.  Travis smiles in your face, but puts a knife in your back.  If this rip-off report keeps anyone from going through what I had to, Thank God!!!  It has served its purpose.

Its amazing to see these reports people have posted. I came to this website just to see what people were saying and I was amazed...

the thing about how employees were treated is what made me say wow! The manager really cares for his people and he wants them to do better. As far as the pay is concerned i was paid for what i did. I knew that if I didnt work i should not be payed. I am sorry for you guys that read this and are turned away from the company. I didnt stay because i had family issues and had to leave.

If you dont work there because of what these people are saying you are missing out!!!

Thanks for taking the time to post your comments regarding Blue Lion.  I was laid off last Oct and I am currently looking for a new job.  I am using Career Builder as one of my job search tools and they regularly send out recommendations on new openings.  They sent me the opening for "Account Manager with Potential Advancement" for Blue Lion.  I had never heard of Blue Lion so I decided to Google them, and that is when I found your report.  Thanks again, I do not need to waste my time with a company that does not seem to value it employees!
