The letter I received stated the charges WILL appear the first of the month. I would like to prevent that from happening if at all possible. Everything I've read and learned advises that once the charges are made - the process for compensation is difficult. While I did not provide CC information, they did ask what types of CCs I did possess, i.e. MasterCard, Visa, Discover, etc. This particularly concerns me because other charges (not authorized by me) have occurred on a CC of mine. If they already have my CC information - as it indicates in the paperwork mailed, I would be VERY interested to know how they acquired it.

That's probably a standard form letter describing terms of agreement that a subscriber would have. If you haven't given them your CC information, you aren't yet a subscriber and shouldn't be charged anything. If they do have your CC information -- without you giving it to them -- and charge you, then you have a rip-off.
