I got a bluebird prepaid card to supplement my other bank card and for the "American express" name. I was told and advised online that they are fair and for the most part fee free. Upon getting and using this card, I found my experience different.

First of all, they claim to have free withdrawals at money pass atm's. I had been using one in particular without fee and suddenly, the ATM was no longer a money pass ATM. I took out 20$ twice. I notice my balance dropped 50$ instead of 40$ so I called. Customer service was rude and claimed I should have researched the ATM before using it. Keep in mind, days earlier, this ATM was free.

I wish it ended there. I again noticed an unusual change in my balance so I called again. After being treated like an idiot, customer service informed me that they no longer offered free ATM access at money pass ATM's unless I used direct deposit. I looked on the website and in bold black and white, te customer agreement said that the access money pass ATM would be free till May 21, 2013.

Instead they moved that date up to February 26, 2013 without notice. When I pointed this out that on their website( www.bluebird.com) there was a full 3 month difference in dates, they told me I should have logged on to their site more often. I tried to log on and the bluebird app kept popping up and wouldn't let me log in. They sent not one single solitary notice to any customer despite requiring phone number, email address and home address when you sign up for this card.

In my opinion, American Express' bluebird card stole from me and countless other card holders. Customer service was of no help and were in fact abysmal at their job. $2 may not seem like a lot of money but imagine them doing this to 2 million+ cardholders and refusing to refund a dime. I hope everyone takes this seriously. They are a bunch of cheating liars.
