My wife and I own with Bluegreen. We have 18,000 points. We have booked time with in two days many times. You also can book using your points for the next year as long as your maintenance fees and club dues are paid. If you buy points outside of Bluegreen you don't get the charter and other things that you only get through them.
We have used are points just in the last year ten times and will be going again in Jan.
They can always go to an update meeting and ask how to use it. If they go into there online account online they can learn everything they need to know.
Sorry, but its not rocket science. Maybe before telling the world that something is bad you should make sure it is.
If your going to go in and book for exact dates and all you want is a three bedroom, it will be harder to book then if you put in a day or two one way or the other. We have only had to move one day out of ten bookings.
Last year we used about 9,000 points and rolled over the other half and used it 8 times. Not sure why they can't use there points the way they want but, maybe they need more information. HMMMM!
Oh if you still want to sell let me know
Ken from MO.

I, too, have an investment in Bluegreen and have the yearly maintenance fees & yearly club dues. I have been making the monthly payment on my so-called timeshare but not the maintenance fees & club dues. Your correct that BlueGreen is not going to call you but have their hired collection person call instead. I tried to sell them back my timeshare or see about selling my timeshare so i dont waste money on something that isnt so. We have 6 kids and BlueGreen says that i can only sell back my timeshare through their company realtor and no one else, including ourselves. I am at a loss as to what to do now. Have had this timeshare with bluegreen since april 2007 and still not able to use it and now it's dec 2009!

Bluegreen, if you're reading this, don't bother calling me trying to get me to revoke the complaint... we're trying to sell our timeshare as quickly as we can and hopefully never have any interaction with you for as long as we live. Ben Nashville, Tennessee

You really think Bluegreen is going to call you?

Dear fellow owner, I am a Preferred Gold owner upgraded many times with BG and would like to take the opportunity to share the following with you: If/when you buy your house....and pay the mortgage ...do you NOT have additional fees to pay?? It's the same with your time-share my friend. * The minimum stay at most resorts is 2 nights. * I do rent my points privately and get far more than enough to pay some or all my Maintenance fees/club dues. I even have a separate account to know exactly what I get and pay concerning BG vacation club. * Just for your info: TODAY I got 3 nights in Aruba starting TODAY! How can you say that it's not possible? * When/if you rent time-share from an owner they carry the what you call 'burden' and you just joy-ride? Don't fool yourself. NO owner will rent out for less than the fees they pay. If you need someone to talk to ...I'm here

Before you shoot yourself in the foot join the Bluegreen group on Yahoo. Members of this group can give you good advice on how to get the most use out of your points when to make reservations, how to rent out your points and if at the end of the day you still want to sell there are members of the group who can help you get the best price. Bluegreen is no different to any other timeshare all companies charge M/F thats how the resorts are maintained, you are wrong in saying that all resorts need a 7 day reservation those which require 7 days are the ones that not whole owned by BG. Those which are own fully by BG have a 2 day min stay apart from Charleston in SC which is a 1 day min say. Please before you sell join the group and ask the questions that you need answers to. Regards Phillip
