I leased a brand new carf rom Bob Penkhaus back in 1998 and just as the deal was to be done, and all figures out of way, we had to come back to sign final papers. When we did, all of a sudden the Finance Manager there said to my wife he had to do something because of her score or such, and long story short, I caught that man trying to do a numbers cam (screwing with credit report and lies) and I immediately lost it in front of everyone there to embarrass that man. he got mad because I caught his a*s lying to me, started to come at me, and Bob Penkhaus came out of his office. Within a few minutes, in Bob's office, the original deal as we understood it, and interest rate, and payment was back in order and we even got a thank you fruit basket for doing business with him, and Bob apologized to us.. After that incident, I will never go back to that dealership. I learned more years after with tricks and techniques dealerships try to do, especially if someone's credit is deemed poor, they go to sub prime lenders- many of whom do special deals to the dealership and kick back a few % after the deal is finalized and financing in place. It is illega;l, but you have to catch them in the act before you can prosecute them or the Atty. General can do anything about it..

The sloppy shop work you "benefitted from" simply makes things much, much worse for you. German cars are designed for Germany, not the USA. Every year, the average auto in the USA will accumulate 2X the mileage that the average auto in Germany will accumulate. You bought a nine-year-old German auto. That is like buying an 18-year-old USA-brand car. So- be prepared! German cars have "prestige" because only people with lots of money can afford them here. If you wanted "a good inexpensive and trouble free" car, buy something like a Toy or a Honda. Or pay your money and enjoy all that good "prestige".
