Bob's Tropical Pet Center ripoff Selling Sick Puppies and DO NOT CARE the business that doesnt give a d**n Woodhaven New York
Basically, I bought a puppy (a toy rat terrier) from Bob's Tropical Pets on Jamaica Avenue. Immediately the puppy, who I named Whitney, started showing signs of illness.
She was coughing terrible and throwing up. When I took Whitney to the vet she was diagnosed with Tracheitis (spelling??) and had to have a very costly procedure in order to remove "debris" from her throat.
When I contacted Bob's to seek reimbursement I was told "TOO BAD, BRING THE THING BACK". I was astonished. Naturally I did not want to return the puppy, all I wanted was reimbursement for the procedure.
Anyway, Whitney is left with a lifelong condition, which was not disclosed to me at the time of the purchase and they don't care.
In my dealings with them I was treated very poorly. I came to the realization that the people that work at Bob's are in the wrong business and I feel sorry for any animals that are there and any people that shop there.
I contacted the Better Business Bureau and the Attorney General's Office and nobody could help me. In the future I would not buy from a pet store.
