Nothing is worse than a acid tasting muddy coffee. Living in Nepal for a year got me used to crap coffee so anything here, probably your coffee included, tastes like heaven. A suggestion: if you really cannot pound through it, try to keep it in your freezer for a few more months and give it away as a white elephant Christmas gift at a party or something. The person will love you(at least at the party) and at least it is not wasted.
