I used Powerhouse Moving and Storage for my move from Texas to Georgia in July 2024. The initial set up and contract process went smoothly. The company delivered my furniture and boxes and upon putting things up, I realized that the ergonomic chair I used for my desk was jammed and not working. The chair is expensive as all ergonomic chairs generally are. I have carpal tunnel (had surgery two years ago) and disc problems in my neck and back therefore me sitting comfortably while working each day is important. I reached out as soon as I realized the issue to the owner and since I could reach her, I spoke with another employee I had been in touch with during the moving set up process. I paid these people (almost $8k) as agreed at the beginning of the move and the end of the move as they sold themselves on “taking care of the customer” and they also have insurance for damaged items. It took a couple of days of me trying to reach the employee and Dana, one of the owners to let them know my chair was damaged. They asked for pictures and cost of replacement which I provided. Dana, sent me a nasty email telling me they weren’t going to replace my “expensive chair” ) (exactly what she said). I told her k would be seeking legal assistance. An attorney in Atlanta sent the company two letters to which Powerhouse flat out ignored. I am filing a complaint with the BBB as they have had 9 months to respond and rectify the issue. Do NOT use this company as they do NOT honor their insurance. Note, they literally jam items in the trucks. They also damaged my bike however I didn’t even mention that to them as it’s an older bike and the value is minimal. When you know a person depends on an item that is used daily and is used for medical purposes and it’s broken by your company you are a very dishonorable company and person to not replace the item.
