My car died on Christmas Day after I had replaced the battery in the morning. I knew it must be the alternator. (This is common
knowledge - replace a battery and the car continues to slowly die - it's the alternator) So AAA came to jump the car but advised that I just have it towed to a AAA approved shop near by to have repairs. He advised I would receive 10% off from this company. I called them the next morning, even though I was told they would call me. When I finally spoke to someone who knew what was going on with my car he sounded annoyed with my questions. I wanted to know if they ran any other tests, to make sure it was in fact the alternator. With attitude he explained that they checked the voltage. (I am familiar with this test and it is done with a machine and it takes all of 2 minutes) After speaking with the man I decided it was best to call my regular car care shop (I didn't call them the night before because it was late on christmas night and I just wanted the car taken care of asap) My regular shop guy warned that I should bring the car over to my regular place as he believed that the alternator could potentially be fixed instead of replaced. Boca's "BEST" Auto repair quoted me at $439.25 while my regular shop (Complete Car Care) quoted me at $239.32 - I called Boca's "Best" up immediately to let them know that I would not be moving forward with repairs. I was greeted with ATTITUDE and told that I would be paying a $50 diagnostic fee (Which I was NEVER told about ). Even when he gave me the quote for $439.25 and I told him that I would then be calling around for estimates, it was never disclosed that there would be a diagnostic fee if I didn't go with repairs.

I was treated rudely by the owner of the business (His name is Joe) - He spoke over me and passed me off to an uninterested teenage front desk girl to take my credit card information.

I asked if he was registered with the Better Business Bureau and he said that yes, he was and I could file a complaint there. When I looked them up on the BB site, by phone number and address I could not find them.

I also looked up other reviews and it seems that Mr.Owner Joe has had complains from women before about starting work without approval and speaking loudly over his customers (young women) with an attitude.

" My car died on Christmas Day after I had replaced the battery in the morning. I knew it must be the alternator. (This is commonknowledge - replace a battery and the car continues to slowly die - it's the alternator) "......ok, since you already "know" the cause of the problem then why ask....."I wanted to know if they ran any other tests, to make sure it was in fact the alternator ".  Do you think they are going to do other TESTS for free? Of course you did, just like most people. The other shop says he may be able to repair the alternator; only assuming that is the problem. Let me guess-you want your regular shop guy to do other tests for free if it's not the alternator.  Isn't funny it's ok for other people to work for free except when it comes to YOU!

p.s. Stay out of my shop leech h*o.
