BonAventure of Sparks, NV. Sadly the food at Bonaventure of Sparks, NV. is so bad my mother gets sick frequently. Internet
Sadly, our mother has chosen Bonaventure as her residential needs have progressed beyond living alone safely. I am pleased that the community of Reno offers such beautiful, new, well appointed and clean "lodges" such as Bonaventure and the Cascades of the Sierra's. Our mother chose the Bonaventure establishment due to location of a grocery store and other establishments that are just across the street. Also, the apartments are laid out to accommodate the bath adjacent to her bedroom such as she has had in her master suite at home.
With that said, the only daily activity at her age that she looks forward to is her meals. The company does not spend her residential fees on her food. I have eaten meals there with her and I have to say that the quantity is not the problem, it's the quality. The food reminds me of airplane food. The only difference is that it comes on a cold plate, instead of the boxed meal. PLEASE DO SOMETHING for these residences. Our mother frequently gets sick from the food. She says the orange juice in the morning is not orange juice, the tomato juice has an acid taste, the bacon cooked years ago, but the eggs are good. Lunches are to be the main meal but 90% of the time they are just plain awful. Now, the food does seem to be good at the start of the month for about a week then it all goes downhill fast.
I wonder how much this facility allows per cost per meal per resident.
