This website experience was a first for me. I logged into their site, found a vacation package that I was interested in. Tried to book my family for the vacation. We had (9) travelers--couldn't book online.

I called the toll free number and tried to book it that way. I gave all of the pertinent information to the customer service person. When she came back on the phone, the price had gone up by more than $500 per person.

When I questioned the price, she said that the airfare must have gone up while I was reading about the trip. ??? I hit the search again on my laptop to find that the online price had gone up about $200 in 30 minutes.

The service rep promptly made another resort suggestion for the trip. This was not the property that I wanted, so I said I would call back. I was so disappointed, but just let it go for the evening.

The next evening, I thought that I would try again. Logged in from my laptop. Only the very high prices would come up on the site. My daughter happened to have her laptop on right next to me, so I told her to run the search to see the property that I had been interested in booking.

Funny thing--the low, low prices from the night before came right up! I tried again with the identical search criteria--same high prices for the same resort that she gave me on the phone.

I had my daughter call from her cell phone to try and book the rooms. She got exactly the same answers that I had received the night before. She questioned the service rep about the price clearly displayed on the website in front of her.

This is the worst form of bait and switch that I have ever encountered. I registered a complaint with the company. Please do not use this travel site.

Airlines Frequently Change Prices

#2UPDATE Employee

Fri, January 28, 2011

Unfortunately, we have no control over the prices the airlines charge. We use the Global Distribution System for our flights. The airlines frequently release a few low cost seats and as soon as they are purchased the price increases. This is a perfect example of supply and demand.

Another issue that comes into play is caching. Your computer may have cached the flight information and this is the information that will display on your computer until it is actually time to book the flight. When you attempt to book the flight our system requests the most recent information from the Global Distribution System if they price is either higher or lower you will be notified prior to booking.

We ask you please fill out our form here, http://from.bookit.com/customer_support.php and we will assign a Resolutions Representative to you.Our Resolutions Representative will be able to adequately assist you with your concerns.

Sincerely,

Sonya
