If they have your correct name, address and ss#, you could be victim of ID theft! In this case you would DISPUTE the debt, request PROOF of DEBT and advice them you know your rights under the FDCPA (google FDCPA fed fair debt collections practices act) it outlines your rights. Mail a CEASE and DISIST letter, not a drop dead letter. And report any FDCPA violations the the FTC (fed trade commission) not the Bar Assoc (Larry is a debt collector not an atty!) And the only thing your would report the the credit agencies is any negative info on your report that is false! Remember this company is a debt buyer, they buy old charged off debt for pennies on the dollar then try to collect it. They don't just make stuff up, so if they have all your info you want to find out how the original creditor got it!
