Jenna, Get a copy of your credit report and see whats on there. If you dont see it on your credit report (if its truly a delinquent bill) it should sit on your report for 7 years. If you dont see anything, see this office a nice cease and desist letter. Lauri is wrong. You shouldnt have to jump through hoops just because a collection agency calls, the burden of proof lies with them not you.

Jenna, If as you claim all the medical bills were paid per the settlement, why not just get proof of payment, and submit it to this agency, as well as the 3 major credit bureaus? Because you admitted you lied in a public forum, the agency can now (if per the contract they hold allows for it) take legal action against you UNLESS you provide proof of payment. Just because the person you talked to is only licensed in California, doesn't mean they don't have reciprocal agreements with attorney's in other states to persue legal action if the debt isn't paid.
