My mother and I were lied to and taken advantage of by Brandon Mitsubishi. This situation happend sometime ago but I just found this site and just had to at least make people aware that they MUST read their contracts from top to bottom or they, like me, will get roped into a contract that is not what is VERBALLY discussed.

I visited alot of dealerships searching for an SUV and decided to go with a Mitsubishi. I tried to get financed by myself but was not able to purchase the 2001 Montero Sport that I wanted, so I had my mother co-sign with me. The salesman Mr. Cruz seemed at the time to have my best interest at heart so I began to trust him.

He discussed the terms of the agreement and said the word "LEASE". I told him upfront that I wanted no part of a "LEASE". I even went to the extent of explaining to him in detail that I wanted to make payments for however long it takes, and end up owning the car in the end with no further obligations. I even told him that I KNOW I will not have the money at a later date to make some huge lump sum payment. Mr. Cruz assured me VERBALLY that this is not what I was getting into and so I signed the contract.

The monthly payments were fine and the length of the term was fine. Since I was VERBALLY ASSURED that this was not a "LEASE" I did not know to be looking for those kinds of terms in the contract.

2 years go by and I received a pamplet in the mail from Mitsubishi Motors Credit Corportation and in big fat letters what do I see??? DIAMOND ADVANTAGE "LEASE"....

Why would I be getting something like this?? I called Mitsubishi Motors Credit and asked what kind of contract I had, they said I was on the DIAMOND ADVANTAGE LEASE PLAN.

I tried to get some help from the customer service rep but I knew there was nothing she could do. I called Brandon Mitsubishi and spoke to real pomp "a*s" jerk who basically said too bad soooo sad, "IT IS IN THE CONTRACT THAT YOU SIGNED". I pulled out my contract and found that I was put into a lease and after paying $489.60 for 5 years, I have a balloon payment of $13,000 if I choose to keep this car, so I will end up paying $42,376 for a 2001 Montero Sport!! I have discussed this situation with a retired attorney who said because there is a signed contract, there is nothing I can legally do to these liars and theives.

I accept a little responsility for not reading the contract thoroughly. But I resent having to do that, because all I did was put my trust into scumbags who are ripping people off!! I can't even begin to imagine how many people they have done this to. Please don't let you or anyone you know be a victim.

Read about my experience on this site about the award winning customer diservice! Try the contact info on my report provided by the great thorn. It hasn't worked for me yet but I will not give up. Remember next time walking on car shark lot is that the inhumans working there care nothing about their customers. They only care about their wallets, that is how much they can defraud you for. My Montero's price is 52210.20 and it was USED! Car dealer fraud is very lucrative for the dealership in the short term. Contact ED the editor and try to arrange a picket session outside this scummy dealership. NEVER believe ANYTHING a dealership tells you, they will say anything to get your money. Next time try to finance anywhere except the F&I office in a car dealership. If there were no F&I offices in dealerships car dealer fraud would drop by more than half. I have let hundreds know about the fraudelent practices of the dealership in the past 2 years and intend in the near future to picket City Mitsubishi on Atlantic Blvd with a sign that says in red letters I HATE CITY MITSUBISHI! As far as I'm concerned my absolute contept for City Mitsubishi will never die because of the way they defrauded me. I bet you NEVER read about car dealer fraud in the newspaper, heard about on the radio, or watched it on TV. Why because the are paid off by the car dealerships. Before the internet there was no way to be heard by masses of people. One of my main missions in life besides my career is costing Mitsubishi hundreds, thousands, if possible in the future millions of customers! Several people are deployed to Jacksonville, FL and I warned them that City Mitsubishi ENJOYS defrauding military members! I look forward to transfering soon so I can see the my favorite FIENDS at the dealership that bent me over two years ago! Really Mitsubishi should change its trademark from a red lotus to a swastika. It would match their personality and tactics of "blitzkrieg car sales." You can try to write the coporate office address in Japan, I never received a respone. They were caught hiding consumer complaints in Japan. If you look at the history of Mitsubishi the way they act can be understood. They built the Zero that bombed Pearl Harbor and after the war they converted to car manufacturing. World War II veterans that were POW's and used as slave labor for Mitsui and Mitsubishi have tried to sue for compensation of their labor for almost 60 years like POW's that sued German companies for reparations. The difference is the US government signed a treaty to bar any claims against Japan from the POW's or their family members to this day. Go to google and type POW's and Mitsubishi and you will find articles on this subject. The foundation of this corporation was built on blood and sweat. So when a customer is mistreated by a Mitsubishi dealership, remember they are following tradition. Good luck on your crusade against this dealership. Every time you convince someone not to go there they lose at least 20K. It is a shame there is a severe lack decency and honesty in auto sales. Maybe if they treated customers with respect they might earn more money and car buying would be more pleasent experience than having root canal.
