Tell us has your experience with this business or person been good? What's this?
i have purchased Brinks Security System for my home and at the time of discussion, i had told them that i have VOiP telephone system with Lingo.com and they said that they can install the system. after installing the system, from next day system is not working and Brinks has send technicians and still not working. i asked them to refund the money since it is still within 30 days i am cancelling the contract. they refused to refund the money and do not want to relieve me from the contract. i need refund of full installation charges and they took one year of service charges in advance. i need refund of $996.05 and need to get out of the contract.

Your Desired Resolution:

i needed refund of my money and an apology from Brinks about their behaviour and how they handle this case ,so that they do not do the same thing to other customers.

#2Consumer Suggestion

Sun, March 30, 2008

There are several things you must verify before proceeding to the step of contacting your State's consumer affairs department. Is the system generating signals to the monitoring station? If not, the equipment should be showing a "trouble" condition called "fail to communicate" ("FC" on your touchpad). If Brinks CS (Central Station) IS receiving signals, then they have fulfilled their end of the contract and you are obliged to reciprocate (they have installed the equipment you ordered and it is functional). If the station is NOT receiving signals, then you are not obligated to pay for the service and the contract is void. If they refuse to correct the problem, you can then report them to your State's Department of Consumer Affairs. They will provide you with the information you require to obtain a full refund. I'd also suggest contacting your local Better Business Bureau office and filing a complaint with them.
