recieved a letter in the mail today stating that i had won a british random lotto. i was to deposti the check that came with the letter for 2997.35 and that was for international clearance fees and that after i deposited the check was to call my agent mary jane smith at santco financial management group.

i am supposed to have won 80,1990.00. so i got on the internet and looked up the bank to wich the check is drawn from and they said it is most likely a scam. i then looked up masco contractor services west, inc, called them and got the california office which in turn gave me the phone number to the florida office which is closed. i did however leave a message asking that they call me back tomorrow. i didn't know if they knew that checks were being sent to people off their account or not.

i will be anxious to see if they return my call. i tried calling my agent that is listed on my letter and so far haven't been able to get through.

please let me know if anyone else has done anything about this and what the outcome was. this looks like a real check i am just afraid if i cash it and then it bounces the money will come back out of my account. look forward to hearing from someone about this mess.

Hi Kim Yes the same just happened to me now and I got a check from Masco Contractor Services too for $4880,00 and after reading many things on this website I decided to just rip up that check because you don't get that much money on a Lotto you didn't enter for nothing unless theres a million scary catches and this case they are clever in doing so in sending you money so they can get to your bank account and take more out after putting that check in the bank. They are a fence or fencing operation that does con games and scams and rip offs and if they ask you for half amount of immediate taxes via Western Union then they are real scam artists. Taxes on winning Lottos for real only range from 15 to 25 percent not over 50 like that and not that way. They just trick you into it being a later fraudulent check and then get more money out so its best to rip up that check because after reading about this rip off and many rip off Lotterys and sweepstakes that people didn't enter I decided its safer to rip up that check to a million pieces.
