Did you really enter this lottery? Were you expecting this e-mail beofre you received it? Most contests are handled through regular 'snail-mail' or personal meetings. In the future, if you receive an unsolicited check accompanied with a letter asking you to return part of the funds to cover some handling or administrative or tax that must be paid before you can receive your 'winnings' then it is a SCAM. It is illegal in the US to pay a fee to receive a prize. I receive these types e-mails about once a week. I delete them. Also, any unexpected or unsolicited check I receive in the mail goes directly to the shredder. If you cash one of these checks, it usually costs you money, or you sign up for a service or product you didn't want or need. Read the fine print. It may also be ambiguous. I see many times in this 'Ripoff Report' website where people are desparate for money and fall for these scams.
