Lake in the Woods apartments has already been investigated for numerous builing code and public safety violations.
The Ann Arbor news had a big write up on it this past summer. I almost moved there before making the decision to leave Michigan altogther so the article was of great interest to me.
I had already been told that the drug dealers there were unbelievable and there were gunshots every night.
When I went to get an application, things seemed really nice though so I blew off what I was hearing. I'm really glad I never actually followed through on it now. Changes are supposedly being made.
The way it was explained to me is this; The number of tenants in the buildings had declined to the point that managment was letting any and everyone move in. No deposits required or background checks made. Bad credit? No problem.
That's how the dealers got in. I wish them luck cleaning it up. It won't be easy.
