Brown and Co., LLC FRAUD: Billed me for filing my taxes and did not file them Carmel, Indiana
I made the mistake of trusting Brown and Co. LLc with my taxes in 2011. The first return they did was completely wrong. One of us is a sub contactor and they didn't take out any business expenses at all. We paid both vouchers knowing they were way too much and we would be filing ammended returns.
It took 6 months for them to ammend the returns, the whole time we were out thousands of dollars. We didn't get money back from the federal government for another 4 months. We had to start calling the state (Indiana) to find out where our money was from that return. We were informed that they were never filed.
When I contacted the accounting firm they told me that I was supposed to file them and it was my fault, however their bill gave two charges for electronic filing fees. At the very least this company dropped the ball and has cost me a lot of time and money now paying penalties that could have been avoided, and at worst they are frauding others like us by charging for services not rendered.
