As a former employee of Budget, not in Abilene, I can shed some light on the charges. First the reason you were charged a week for the 5 day rental is that in the rental car business, most companies consider 5,6, or 7 day rentals to all be a "week." It grants the person who keeps the car the full 7 days a discount. As for the fuel charge, most locations top off the fuel tanks when they clean them. If the amount of fuel the car takes exceeds 1.5 gallons then the company goes back and charges the customer for the fuel. To avoid this, we would always suggest filling the car up as close to the rental car location as possible. From experience, we have customers who would drive 20 miles away to a Wal-mart to fill up and save a few cents. Then when the vehicle was audited it would show low on fuel.

Yep, sounds just like them. I refuse to rent from them because of this type of thing . I am glad you were able to get the charge reversed.
