We made an online reservation for a Chrysler Sebring type car (we actually got a Pontiac Grand Prix 5 pass which was fine) and the stated price as $200.20 (when I complained to Budget via email I checked prices online for rental for the same car from Mar 16 thru Mar 25 and the price quoted was $190.20. BUT they charged me $371 and I was outraged. We didn't have time to reject the car at the time but we did protest and they said they quoted me in pounds sterling. How ridiculous. Why would we, who live in MN and rented a car in TX, be quoted in British dollars. I was outraged. When I wrote an email complaing here is the answer I received:

Dear Mr.:

Thank you for contacting Budget.

I apologize for the confusion. This reservation was made thru Zodiac Europe LTD which is located in the United Kingdom. I don't know if you were at our UK web site or found this thru another web site but the quote is in Pound Sterling. When you got the final bill it was converted by your credit card

to US Dollars.

My answer back: Nothing on the website indicated that and why is that same car for the same days (one month later) now $190.20? I'm not letting this go. This was false advertising and I will carry this as far as I have to - to get it resolved.

(Are you telling me that if I rent that same car in Dallas for 9 days right now it will cost me $371.14?)
