B, File a police report against them for "harassing" and "threatening" phone calls. make sure you state they said they would come to your house if you did not pay. Then take this police report to your phone company. they will list them with their nuisance call bureau, and forward all phone records to the police. It invades your privacy some more, but the police can then record all incoming calls. Now, with that evidence, file a lawsuit on them for the blatant FDCPA violations. And, you can even press criminal charges. Talk to your local prosecutor. Also be sure to file a separate complaint for each FDCPA violation at ftc.gov. Now send a CEASE COMMUNICATIONS request to them by certified mail, return reciept requested. be sure to put the certified# on the letter itself and keep a copy for your records. This is very important as it proves what you sent. DO NOT sign the letter, just print. Now when they violate, you have it documented for your lawsuit. Stay off the phone! NEVER speak to any debt collector on the phone. NEVER!!
