CAMCO, Capital Acquisitions & Management Company harrasses potential victims with phony credit card bills Rockford Illinois
I was sent a letter by CAMCO stating that I owed 2614,00 from a debt incurred in 1991. They had my correct addresses, stating that I last made a payment in 1999. When I asked for more info because I had no idea what they were talking about, I was put through to a "nice" sounding woman who said that if I paid $1100 RIGHT NOW, the debt would be free and clear. When I asked for more information regarding the alleged credit card debt, she said I was wasting her time and that CAMCO would not call my other creditors to tell them what a horrid credit risk I was. I am only sorry I didn't snap sooner to the fraud this was. And I'm glad I didn't have 1100 to give. I told her I would need to speak to an attorney regarding this and she hung up. The claim was utterly bogus but pitched enough to sound for real.
