Canadian Snack Supply , Federated Snack Supply Spin Off Scam From Essential Grocers **SCAM**SCAM**SCAM Toronto Ontario
Wow... For those of you that are aware of the Essential Grocers, LTD. scam that took place in mid to late 2005, it was a well executed plan. Yes... I was a victim also. If you are not aware, please check it out on Ripoff Report.
In late May '2007, my brother-in-law responed to an AD in the newspaper. Under "businesses for sale / business opportunities" appeared an ad for a NABISCO distributor. Make $200K per year. He called the "800" number. No one answered but they did return his call a day or so later.
When they called, their number showes up "private caller". He talks with them and asks a few questions. They tell him he is the type person they are looking for. Someone that has been self-employed, understands business, etc. He ponders the conservation and calls back a few days later. He talks with them a little more. Man... they are smooth and conveniencing. He is thinking "what an opportunity... this will re-direct my life".
They send him a package with a contract, a "first class" brochure/booklet and an application. He remembers me talking about a company out of Canada that went bankrupt (or so I thought they did). So he gives me a call. I told him there were too many similarities. Long story short... he brought me the package they sent him.
When I saw the brochure/booklet, I could not believe it. I got my Essential Grocers brochure/booklet and it was page for page. The projection graphs were identical, the testimonials were identical, the pictures were identical. I was stunned. The only thing they changed was everything the use to read "EG" or "Essential Grocers" now reads "FSS" or "Federated Snack Supply". The contracts are the same, the process is the same... It was a "flash back" in time for me.
I am determined to do everything I can to stop these "crumbs"! I began doing research on the internet and found that people had posted their stories on the Essential Grocers scam. I found the name and phone number of the detective that is currently handling the case in Canada. I called him and told him my story. Hopefully, this scam will not hurt as many people this time!
