Incorrectly charged my debit card and refused to rectify the situation. Did not send me an emailed receipt when they said they would.



I supposedly had a $70 overdue balance with a hospital that I was unaware of. I was nervous about this being a legitimate company and they did nothing to prove it was a legitimate bill. Because I was unsure, I asked to pay half and for the other half to be sent to me in a paper statement form, and for a receipt to be emailed. They agreed- and then charged my card the full amount, never emailed a receipt and did not send a paper statement. When I called to complain they transferred me to the account rep I talked to before. She lied and said that she had already charged my account the full amount before I told her to charge half, which is completely untrue since I told her to charge half before I gave her my credit card information. She also told me there was nothing they could do because the charge already went through and they already paid the company. In addition, she was completely unapologetic and unprofessional. This was completely dishonest, sneaky, and I cannot imagine any other business putting through the wrong charge and then saying they cannot refund you. Right now, I am still unsure it's a real company. They sent me a receipt but I am still trying to figure out if it's a real bill and will be challenging this charge with my bank. I would not trust that this is a legitimate business, as I cannot imagine anyone else doing business in this way.
