Capital First and Hartford Auto Club ripoff fraudulent ripoff business tricked and lied to us Miami Florida
Capital First representative called and promised me an unsecured MasterCard with a guaranteed limit of 2,500.00. She said it was a new program for people with past credit problems. I asked her was it anything like a debit card and she told me "No, it's a regular MasterCard. I agreed to try it.
On 8/26/02 I received Capital First's packet of benefits. After reading the info I realized it is like a secured card and very much like a debit card. I immediately called to cancel and to have my processing fee of $29.95 refunded because I was lied to by the solicitor.
I spoke to Aaron, operator #186. He was of no assistance. I asked for a supervisor and was transferred to Lewis, operator #263 who told me I had to write in to ask for a credit but he informed me it would never be done. I wrote in anyway and asked to have the processing fee refunded and I explained in full detail my conversation with the solicitor.
On 8/28/02 I found out that Capital First took fee's for $99.00 and $59.95 from my checking account on 8/27/02. I was outraged and called them. I immediately asked for a supervisor and was transferred to Tanya the escalation supervisor. I informed her that I was billed these fee's after I canceled which was the same day I received the packet. I was not given a 7 day free trial before the money was deducted. She gave me the information I needed to get the refund. I was so confused after taking down all the steps you have to go thru to get your money back that I made her repeat everything 3 times to make sure I had it all down correctly.
I then received a letter on 8/31/02 from Hartford auto club stating they were giving me a free 15 day trial and would be deducting $99.00 if I didnt call by 9/13 to cancel I tried several times to call them but was disconnected every time.
