I was contacted by phone at 8:30 a.m on a Saturday morning. I was half awake and did not understand who the caller was, I said "Capital One" and the gentelman said yes. I was told for a $19.95 processing fee I would receive a mastercard. I had received a credit card similar to this before and I have had it for 2 years and I have had no problems. I was told I would receive my packet in about a week and that I would have 7 days to try it and then if I would like I could cancel with no obligation.

I received my packet and the same day I received it they processed a payment of $159.90 to my checking account. I had no idea they were going to do this. It bounced every legitimate check I had out and cost me $140 in bank fees!!!!!!!

I called the compnay the very next morning and I was given a return authorization number to return my packet.

I was told I would not be reimbursed!!!! I photocopied everything in my packet and headed to my attorneys office.

Is there any way to recoup the losses I have suffered. I am a singleparent and this has financially devestated me. I can't even buy groceries for my kids!

Nicole, I gave you the wrong web site to go to, it is www.ftc.gov, then click on "file a complaint", and remember do it quick!!!! And I also meant Capital First, NOT Capital one. Once again, good luck!!!

Nicole, First thing you have to do is go to your bank and tell them to stop all withdrawls!!! Cause there is more companies involed than just capital one. They will find a way to keep getting money. Next, and this is very important, you have to send a letter to your STATES ATTORNEY GENERAL, and do it quick!!!! Go to the web site....www.ftc.com, and click on file a complaint. The exact same thing happened to me, and when I did send the package back with the RA# on it, they said they recieved the package but NO RA #. I have been dealing with them since April 17th, and the attorney general had wrote them a letter, and as of yesterday the account manager for capital one called and said she was responding to the letter from the AG, and my money would be in my account within 5 days, well to my surprise it was in there that same day. If they are not threatened by some kind of legal person, they will not give you your money back. So please, go to that web site and file NOW. Good luck.
