Capital Moving Services Inc. Damaged Destroyed Furniture and Electronics Rude Unprofessional Movers Horrible Experience Overall Ontario, Vancouver, Calgary Internet Alberta and British Columbia
I AM DISGUSTED WITH HOW MY POSSESSIONS WERE HANDLED ON PICKUP AND DELIVERY BY CAPITAL MOVING. I MOVED FROM VANCOUVER BC TO CALGARY AB. MANY ITEMS WERE NOT PROTECTED WITH BLANKETS OR BLANKETS WERE VERY DIRTYAND WET AND THE PICKUP MOVERS ARRIVED 2 HOURS EARLY AND TOOK SOME ITEMS BEFORE THEY WERE PROPERLY WRAPPED. I WAS TOLD IF I DID NOT LET THEM COME EARLY THEY WOULD HAVE NO ROOM FOR MY ITEMS ON TRUCK. MOVER IN CHARGE WAS VERY RUDE AND TRIED TO INTIMIDATE ME AND SIGN INVENTORY DOCUMENT BEFORE I READ IT AND HE ADDED ON MANY EXTRA CHARGES MORE THAN I WAS QUOTED IN EMAIL AND ON PHONE. I NOTICED AFTER HE MARKED ALL ITEMS AS SCRATCHED EVEN ITEMS THAT WERE NEW AND EVEN A RUG! HOW CAN A RUG BE SCRATCHED?
MY TV WAS LIKE NEW AND HAD NO PROBLEMS WHEN PICKED UP, IT WAS PACKED IN ORIGINAL TV NEW SAFE BOX AND WHEN DELIVERED BOX WAS DENTED, RIPPED AND BOTTOM WAS SOAKING WET. WHEN TURNED ON TV NOW SHUTS OFF BY ITSELF AFTER ON FOR A SHORT TIME. TECHNICIAN STATES TO REPAIR COULD BE ATLEAST MORE THAN HALF THE COST OF TV.
DELIVERY WAS VERY UNPROFESSIONAL AS WELL. MY ITEMS WERE LEFT ON OPEN TRUCK FOR OVER 20 MINUTES WHILE SNOWING OUTSIDE, BLOCKING ROAD TRAFFIC WHILE DRIVER HAD TO CONFIRM ON A SUNDAY MY COST AS IT WAS ONCE AGAIN WRONG ON HIS SHEETS. HIS MOVER ASKED TO USE OUR LOWER LEVEL WASHROOM RIGHT AWAY AND PROCEEDED TO ASK SEVERAL TIMES DURING 2 1/2 HOUR APPROX. DELIVERY TIME. ONCE MOVERS LEFT AND I WENT DOWN TO START LOOKING THROUGH BOXES WE NOTICED WALL, BATHROOM SINK AND LIGHT SWITCH WERE COVERED IN DIRT/MUD FROM MOVER. MY BABIES LARGE STANDUP SWING WAS LEFT SQUISHED UNDER HEAVY BOXES/BINS.
OVERALL I AM NOT SURE WHAT I PAID OVER $2000 FOR? I AM NOW LEFT CLEANING NEW/LIKE NEW ITEMS THAT ARE NOW COVERED IN DIRT/MUD AND AN EXPENSIVE TV THAT MAY BE GARBAGE FAIRLY SOON FROM IMPROPER CARE IN THE MOVE. SOME OF MY END TABLES WERE EVEN DISASSEMBLED BY SOMEONE ELSE IN MOVE AND NOW ONE IS MISSING 2 LEGS.
I FILED A DAMAGE CLAIM TO NOW RECEIVE A DECISION STATING I AM NOT ENTITLED TO COMPENSATION EVEN THOUGH I EVEN PURCHASED EXTRA INSURANCE. BEWARE OF USING THIS COMPANY THEY HIDE BEHIND FINE PRINT OF CONTRACT TO BURN YOU! THEY DON'T CARE ABOUT CUSTOMERS BELONGINGS OR FAIR COMPENSATION!

Here is an update on my horrible moving experience, after lengthy emails back and forth with Elena Balduk in Customer Service, jumping through all Claim Form Hoops etc...waiting over 2 months for my claim refund to come in the mail to be insulted for the last time by Capital Moving. They claimed I was owed $275 approx but they have a $300 claim deductible in the fine print that applies so there for 00000 back to me! This Company is the Lowest of the lows, and very much a SCAM as far as my opinion and experience using them goes. I was given the run around looking back from day one. I have read the more recent reports against this company here and also have found more damages after claim was filed. I have been advised to report this company to the BBB and Canada Moving Companies Forum. I have also been approached by Media who may run a story on this company. Please if you have had an awfully similar experience using this company, Speak Up! Report them to the BBB, email your Local News/Media. The more people that come forward the more likely a News story will be run. Capital Moving Services needs to be held accountable for their negligence and outrageous treatment of paying customers. Like others I have been left sickened with the damages to my treasured belongings and hard earned money out the window for a costly move. If I can help save one family from going through my experience using them then writing this is worth it! They may offer a Lower Quote than other moving companies but in the end they will cost you ALOT more in damages, stress, anxiety and time! Good Luck and Happy Safe Moving All! :)
