Capital One Bank Credit Reporting Errors Cause Credit Problems Glen Allen Virginia
After starting a new job as a personal assistant to a company owner, my employer wanted me to have access to all his accounts; allowing me to verify balances, make adjustments, etc.
One of his accounts was with Capital One. When we contacted them, we explained what we wanted to do. They were helpful and accomodating, however, needed my SS# to allow me info access.
When I later applied for an account with someone, I was denied credit as they said I was overextended...that my outstanding obligations were not in line with my income.
I requested a copy of my credit report only to discover that I have been added to my employer's Capital One account as an "authorized user" which now appeared on my credit history as an account with a $15,000 credit limit and a balance due of $8,000.
I have disputed these entries with 3 credit reporting agencies, have been in contact with Capital One verbally and in writing numerous, yet the entry still appears on my credit history.
Because of there screw up/reporting error, I've been unable to obtain credit.
