Capitol One Auto Finance Ripoff no communication, then repossessed my car without any notice, Plano Texas
I refinaced my car with capitol one in 2001, I had to file bankruptcy in 2002, I reaffirmed on my car. After I filed banruptcy I had not communication with them whatsoever. I could not get ahold of anyone, all i got was a recording.
In sept 2002, I though I had breast cancer and thought I had made my payment, but I had not. But I heard nothing. Then in Dec I tried to get ahold of someone to defer my payment, not realizing I had missed the Sept one, but still could not get ahold of anyone.
In May 2004, I got a phone call on my home phone at 9:30 in the morning. I was at work. They have my work number, so when I got home it was too late to call them back. That night they repossessed my car @ 2:00 in the morning. I called the number back the next day and he said I should have called him. Well I tried to explain I was at work and did not get the message to call him until later that evening. He was very hateful.
So after twenty thousand phone calls, I finally got a hold of someone to tell me what was going on. The I found Out I had actually missed Sept payment and Dec. They also said I had missed February payment, which I had not, they had posted it to the wrong account. Anyway, I got charged a late charge even for that payment.
They are a rip off company and I would never ever ever do business with them again. After alot of money and crying, I got my car back, but I still cannot get them to send me a payment history from the beginning and also a accounting of the money I spent On getting my car back. I call, they don't call back.
