After I opened my credit card account with Capitol One Bank, I was diagnosed with a terminal disease with no cure. According to the Credit Card Protection Plan, I was elgible to have the account paid off by the carrier. When I called Capitol One Bank to report my medical condition, I was told that they could not honor that due to the account having been 30 days past due at one time. The Representative advised me to pay on the account on-time for six months and that should make me eligible. I did as they advised and called back, again I was denied. I pointed out that I had been paying for the Protection Plan since I opened the account, had only been 30 days late one time, which I paid when I was notified, and what I had been advised to do. The representative apologized and said that there was nothing they could do since the account had been 30 days past due at one time. Capitol One Bank then sent me two different letters advising me that Capitol One Bank had selected me to have all of my bills compiled into Capitol One Bank, and that I was already pre-approved and I only had to call the number listed on the letter and give my pre-approval number. I called and told that I was not eligible because of the past due. Capitol One Bank also sent me an offer to re-finance my automobile and I was already pre-approved. I called, again I was not eligible. I contacted Capitol One Bank and told them that if they would waive the high interest rate and the past due fees, and the over-limit fees, I would be able to pay the account off. Without their cooperation I had no choice except to pay for my numerous prescriptions or do without my medicine and pay Capitol One Bank. The Representative's refused to cooperate or work with me.

At the time you tried to file your claim? If so, there would probably not be any coverage for that time period. If that was not the time the card was past due I don't understand why they would not honor the claim, especicially when I bet they were still charging you the the protection plan after that 30 day late payment
