When I need to access the credit card protection attached to my credit card that I had paid for I was denied.  I had a series of life threatening situations that took me out of my gainful employment and rendered me a part time employee.  As a single parent I took pride in the fact that I was making every effort to care  for myself and child I paid my bills as regularly as possible and contacting all creditors.  When the loss of one of the part time jobs occurred I contacted Capitol One and made the choice of accessing the protection clause in the agreement.

I was directed to another entity that took my information and then sent me a letter informing me that due to my part time employment status I was entitled to the protection coverage.  This was baffling to say the least and I inquired further, with no response.  Two years went by an I continued my frustration until finally I received a letter informing me that Capitol One honored the coverage, but on only one of the credit cards??? The issue occurred at the same time with both cards being rendered unusable, so why was I still being denied on the other card.

No answer was ever given, until I got the recent summons of garnishment three years later now that I am a full time employee! I go to court on March 5th to contest both the manner in which I was unlawfully summons, the attorney hired a process server that lied about service and gave a general description of me with missing noticeable, recognizable, distinguishable features, but it passed so that he could get me to court. I am faced with a $2,300 bill that I have no money to pay that would not cause undue hardship.  I no longer use credit cards because of this very type of fraudulent behavior on the part of the credit card companies.

I would like to see this sort of behavior stopped and companies held to the same legal standards that consumers are held to when fraudulent behavior occurred.
