Capitol One ripoff will give you a credit account without you even knowing about it. So, I ask you, what's in your wallet? Richmond Virginia
I thought that I had heard everything there was to hear about people getting a credit card until one day I received a copy of my credit report to make a major purchase and found that there was a negative report about a credit card account from Capitol One that I did not open.
So, I tried to see how that could happen by calling Capitol One and asking them to send me something that showed where I had asked for an account with them. They could not show me anything because "they did not have records that went back that far". Everybody knows that is a bunch of bull.
After that, I found that not only did I have one account but two different accounts and that they had gone to collection to an "in-house collection department".
I have requested that the credit reporting agencies challenge these accounts stating that these accounts are "hearsay" accounts and the report that comes back is that they remain on my credit report. I asked the Big Three credit reporting agencies to provide me the information according to law and yet there is no proof of any transaction between me and Capitol One.
I still have these negative reports on my credit which we all know reduces my credit score tremendously and increases the interest rate on everything that use credit to purchase. So, I ask you...what's in your wallet?
