Capitol One deceptive ripoff criminal company Seattle Washington
Being my first credi card- I had a $200 limit- I used it a few times all which was paid off. On vacation I used the card for a $75 purchase, which I had to wait a few months to pay off. Of course by that point the fees were racked up to my limit which then I paid. But because of the monthly fee, then late fee it never stops. Again with no purchases on my card it was back up to my limit all in fees. At this point I spoke with Capitol One and we made a deal that I would pay $200 ( my limit) and they would take off the over draft fee.
I asked the woman at that time to please cancel my card. But the next month again I received a bill for the monthly fee. At this point I started ignoring them, figuring there was nothing they could expect of me since I had paid them off and canceled my card. WRONG I have now been harrassed by Capitol One, their collectors, and now their attorneys who are threatening me with a judgement on a total of $680 all in fees on a card that I no longer have, which was paid off and canceled.
I figure that I have given them $400 on a $75 purchase and I will not give them anymore. So it was left today after 3 hours of speaking with Capitol ONe and their attorneys that they will take me to court. Even if I did choose to pay it I would have had to come up with $494 TODAY to pay them. The other thing that it is really wrong- I have requested a history report and documentaion of my agreement with them and am unable to receive these.
