Care.com offers customers the opportunity to sign up for 30 days of their service at a time.  If you are seeking child care of pet care, once you sign up, you are able to see and contact people in your location who will provide these services for whatever fee they set as appropriated.

All of these steps are straight forward.  However, when cancelling before or after the 30-day period, Care.com will encourage a customer to continue the service for another 30 days or whatever timeframe the customer may want.  That part is not bad either.  The part that is misleading and unethical, in my opinion, is that they do not explain that a customer must initiate another call or email to discontinue the service when the time is up.  They do not send out reminders or notifications that the specificed time period is coming to an end and that, if Care.com is not notified, they will simply continue to bill the customer.

For many customers it can be weeks or months before they catch the fact that they are still being billed.

This practice is deceptive and it seems as if it is a tactic that Care.com deliberately utilizes.  From the number of reports that have been filed on the Internet regarding this company, the tactic seems to be working well for them.

The big question - how does the company's founder and employees live with the fact that they are conducting business in such a way as to deceive unwary customers.  Why not clean up your act and run things in a more straight forward fashion.

I hope this report and the others out there on the Internet will help other potential customers think twice before getting involved with Care.com.

Or just admit that YOU and all the others who are whining about it NEVER read the terms and conditions. Its NOT illegal to NOT read, but you cant sit there and whine about not being informed BY THEM when YOU didn't educate YOURSELF! Its a business, as such things like auto pay are handled by a computer and NOT a live human. Atleast NOT until THEY get the confirmation notice of cancellation. THEN a live human handles the issue. So BASICALLY YOU and every other consumer whining is whining because THEY are holding YOU accountable by billing YOU. THAT IS NOT A RIPOFF! YOU signed up for the service, YOU DID NOT READ THE TERMS AND CONDITIONS, yet THEY are supposed to have some sort of psychic ability and KNOW that YOU want to cancel without YOU sending them a request to do so. Seems to me that YOU are just passing the buck in order to get out of paying what YOU AGREED TO! Reading is a BASIC skill. If you cant or wont do even the smallest thing to either educate yourself of protect yourself, how in ANY stretch of the imagination can you sit there and whine about THEM, because ALL they are doing is what YOU TOLD THEM TO! Oh that's right...The USUAL self entitlement of the American Consumer. WAAAA! WAAAA! They are rude and mean because THEY wont give me MY way. Sound familiar?? It should, your entire post is a cryfest. YOU AGREED TO ALL THE TERMS AND CONDITIONS OF THE SERVICE! How can YOU blame THEM when YOU did NOTHING to protect yourself. Are YOU not an adult? Perhaps YOU should just stay off websites until you learn to read WHAT you are agreeing to. Isnt it amazing how this is ALWAYS anyone elses fault EXCEPT you?
