I just wanted to say thank you for all those individuals that posted remarks about Career Services International.

I received a call from Bonnie Lauer about the opportunity to find me a job. At first everything sounded great then came the catch I had to give a credit card number and they would charge my account $1,500 for doing the research. Ms. Lauer explained they would have a financial writer, write me a cover letter, rewrite my resume to fit the job description I was looking for. The would coach me for my interviews. Complete a the mailing to the head of departments not just someone in Human Resources and negotiate my salary. They would do all this for a year.

She explained I could be interviewing with someone within 2 - 4 weeks. Thank GOD that when I made the call I was at work and used one of the confrence rooms to call her and did not have my wallet handy, if not I would have been a victim of Career Services International.

When I returned to my desk I thought it was strange they would require money to find me a job when they recruiting agencies usually get paid by the employer. When I researched the company online I came across other complaints from Ripoff Report. Don't fall victim.

I agree with Enraged, but file complaints with the Florida Attorney General and BBB

Congratulations, Stephen!  You saved $1500 and tons of aggravation!  I agree with Enraged, both that CSI is a scam and that these pro-CSI postings are generated from Emily, Bonnie, Valerie and Anna.  I suggest, however, that victims file reports (online, painlessly) with the Florida BBB and the Florida Attorney General's Office.  The latter is currently investigating CSI and an expose aired Monday, July 19 on Orlando's Action 9 with Todd Ulrich.  Google it or see my Ripoff report update for the link, if you're interested.

Career Services International is a scam and are fraudulent...

I have listed a previous complaint about CSI (Career Services International), and reading the postings where these individuals are praising CSI for their strong ethical standards, and highly exceeding expectations, really makes me ill to say the least. In addition, I am sure that those writing these positive comments are most likely Bonnie, Valerie or Anna themselves, all of whom are professional scam artists. I have filed complaints with the FTC, individual State Attorney Generals Offices, the Better Business Bureau, for taking my money and delivering nothing at all. I would encourage anyone that reads this, DO NOT use this Company or any other Company that asks you for money up front. CSI sure comes across in their initial conversation with you as a self proclaimed "savior" that is here to find you a job immediatley, within weeks, and how you will make six figures right away! I currently hold an Executive Level position, and was looking to explore other options. I did not need all the "coaching" training and non-sense, I was looking for contacts only in a specific demographic. What I came to find out was that not ONE of the apparent networking letters were received out of over 100 that were supposedly mailed. Nor could they show me any proof of these mailings! Expect a law suit CSI! It's coming. Enraged in NY.

I signed up with CSI in 2005 with a 5 year commitment agreement. CSI did everything I was told and expected then, however I am in need of their services again in 2009. My career coach Anna Webber has had my resume, cover letter, networking letter, follow-up letter, references list as well as the company contact list re-generated with all new information. Anna has gone the extra mile to provide coaching and a new mailing list at no additional cost. I am glad that there are so many lazy people searching for jobs that they expect everything to be done for them. This means the job market competition is not that stiff. If they won't put any effort into searching for a position, how well do you think they are going to do that job once they get it? CSI has integrity. Karla D. Phoenix, Arizona

To the individual who said "I paid less than 2,000 to CSI , got a great resume written and mailed it to 500 prospects." I have news for you. CSI costs 1500.00 for the first 125 resumes. Then 2.43 plus postage after that. Assuming postage is .42 cents (I'm sure they also charge you for the envelope but I will leave this out) it would be 2.85 per mailing after the initial 125 resumes. They stated less than 2000.00 for 500 prospects. This is incorrect. It would be 500 - 125 so an additional 375 resumes at 2.85 minimum per resume or an additional 1068.75 plus the initial 1500.00 for a grand total of 2568.75 for the 500 resumes. Not "less than 2,000" as they said. This person is not telling the truth. Period.

You're Filing a report when you don't know what you're talking about

Let me get this straight: You're filing a ripoff report even though you didn't use their services. So you weren't ripped off, you have no knowledge of this company and you're slamming them. I've used CSI services precisely because I didn't want a recruiter to take 15-20% of my starting salary. You're naive if you really believe employers pay the recruiter; you do. If it's a 100,000 dollar salary, you will receive 80,000 instead with the balance going to the recruiter. That means when you get a raise it's based off the reduced salary, so in essence you're losing money year over year because you went through a recruiter. I paid less than 2,000 to CSI, got a great resume written and mailed it to 500 prospects. It took three weeks, not two, but I got several calls, with my future employer saying he was just about to post a job when he got my resume. They don't do the negotiation for you, Valerie coached me how to do it myself and it was amazing. I'd always been afraid to ask for more, but she taught me to express my value to get the salary I deserved. Here's what I got from CSI. Great resume (sure I could do it myself, but I could probably sew a three piece suit myself, too, with about the same results. I'd never SEEN a resume like theirs. They made look like a six-figure winner.) Sigmarie wrote it and she was great. Everyone was easy to work with and I felt like I had a team of quality behind me.
