Chrystll Owens listed a full blooded Chihuahua puppy on Pet Finders that was up for adoption. She told me I had

to send her the money next day delivery, or she would not hold her for me. I sent her a check and the app. next day

delivery. She cashed the check and told me I could pick up the puppy the 25th on Nov. I kept emailing and talking to

her on Facebook. She would say the puppy was fine. Every few days she would list on Facebook about going out

and getting more rescued pets. I should have looked on the internet to see how many people had

reported what a fraud she is. I talked to her Sunday and she said the puppy was fine and playing alot. Sunday night

she sent me a photo of my dog. I could tell right up that it was not a Chihuahua at all. I begain to wonder what was

going on. Tuesday morning she sends me a email saying the puppy had died, and not to come there. She has made

no effort at all to return my money. I then turned to the internet and found several reports of the same thing she has

done to others. I have turned this over to Channel 6 TV, made a Comsumer Complaint, and filing in small claims court.

I am a single mother who is raising three adopted children with special needs, I had to explain to these children who

buried their father a year ago, that they were not going to get their puppy. I had to take more of their Christmas

money and adopt another puppy for them.  I hope Chrystll Owens enjoys her Christmas bought with money she took

from disabled children.  Other people have posted that Chystll took in dogs after being told she has had Parvo in her

home. How she can live with herself? I asked her the day she said they died if it could be Pravo and she said no she

has never had Pravo in her home.  Please do not ever adopt a an animal from her.

We had the same experience

Hi Carolyn. So sorry to hear about this! You may have seen my post on this same site. We had a similar experience with Chrystll Owens and Caring Canine. After reading your post, I have also emailed RTV6 about our experience. We also considered small claims court, but decided against it. While we would like to have our money back, for us it was really about getting the word out as much as we could. After several hateful exchanges with Chrystll, I decided it would be better not to engage with her any further. However, when I saw your post I realized she is still doing the same thing. It's just awful. I'll talk to my husband and we may revisit the idea of small claims. You may also want to email petfinder.com about your experience. Several of us contacted them about Chrystll and they encouraged her to refund deposits (which she never did). It is so frustrating to be told that because she claims to be a rescue (which we know she isn't), there is nothing that can be done. And even more frustrating that this clueless woman pretty much bragged and crowed about that in her rebuttals to my report. I'll be sharing your ripoff report on my FB page and asking friends to share.

Thanks!

Beth

A friend of mine just happened to stumble across a post from someone who recently tried to adopt a puppy from Caring Canine. Puppy died while still in Chrystll's care yet she hasn't refunded her money. She has also posted her experience on this site--Ripoff Report #1105138.
