Carolina Furniture HR H.R. Privette Furniture scam in High Point Calabash North Carolina
I initially ordered a dining set and breakfast set with CF in April 2002. The weird thing is one day in 06/2002 I got a call from HR informing me that my furniture will be delivered that day. There was no call the day before or any notice whatsoever, which was a little strange to me. But, I went home early from work and waited.
The furniture was actually delivered to my house and the delivery folks were decent. They did mention that it's unusual for me to get furniture in 2 months since other customers had to wait for over 6 months. Everything seems normal except for the unexpected call so I decided to go with another order with CF. That was a mistake!!
My second order was for a Broyhill bedroom set that costs much more than my previous Ashley dining pieces. I sent the deposit for $1900 in 06/2002 and no furniture as of yet. CF is a big scam as their customer service people do not work there anymore. I've tried calling many times and found it difficult to speak to anyone live.
WHen I got a chance to speak with HR, he would always promised delivery within the next week. He had also promised a refund since I do not want to deal with them anymore. HOwever, it is now 01/2003 and I have not received any refund. They are experts at the run around game. I wonder if the previous successful delivery was an attempt to lure me into buying bigger, more expensive items?
So far, there were at least 6 promises made to me by HR regarding furniture delivery and refund. He never followed through. I already submitted a complaint with the AG office and am hoping to get my money back. I might contact a lawyer for possibilities of restitutions beyond the refund amount.
HR should not be in business in the first place because of his problems in South Carolina. I hope this complaint will deter others from ordering with Carolina Furniture and HR Privette.

I just saw a previous complaint on this site stating that Ruth took an order from someone for CF. I thought she was just their receptionist. I guess she is acting as a salesperson to trick others for more deposits. BUYERS BEWARE....
