carribean cruise lines we were contacted via telecon Carribean Cruise Lines representative about a "SPECIAL DEAL for 3 day Carribean Cruise" We were offered a trip for two to the Bahamas via telemarketer FOR ONLY $426 and was told this included everything (we asked three times). Package consisted of two nights in a hotel in major cities, ft lauderdale, Florida
Carribean Cruise Lines representative contacted us via telephone with a "Special Deal"
We were offered a trip for two to the Bahamas via telemarketer FOR ONLY $426 and was told this included everything (we asked three times). Package consisted of two nights in a hotel in major cities, Gas allotment, Packages to Orlando, Vegas and additional Island Cruise. NO MENTION was made of the following.. TIMESHARE TOURS REQUIRED & MANDATORY, SUPPLEMENTARY HOTEL ROOM COSTS, Parking Charges, Gratuity Charges, FUEL SURCHARGE Charges, PORT EMBARKMENT CHARGES, BIRTH CERTIFICATE REQUIREMENTS or INABILITY TO CANCEL Cruise.
WE SPECIFICALLY ASKED IF PASSPORTS WERE REQUIRED. Upon arrival we were notified Birth certificates IN LIEU OF PASSPORTS WERE REQUIRED or we could not go and MUST FORFEIT the cruise, Had to drive 149 miles back to get birth certificate, Told THEN WE HAD TO ATTEND A TIME SHARE PRESENTATION BEFORE WE COULD GET A BOARDING PASS. TIME SHARE PRESENTATION WAS A RIPOFF WITH INTENSE RCI PRESSURE AND VARIABLE PRICES AFTER FIRST REFUSAL. COSTS CONTINUED TO BE ADDED EVERY STEP OF THE WAY. THE SHIP WAS AN OLDER CONVERTED SMALL CARGO TYPE TRANSPORT SHIP.
WE WERE TOLD WE HAD AN OUTSIDE CABIN, INSTEAD WAS GIVEN AN INSIDE CABIN CLOSET TYPE ROOM,OFFERED AN UPGRADE AT $99, POOL WAS A KIDDIES POOL, PRICES ON EXCURSIONS WERE EXTREMELY HIGH , BOAT DOCKED AT FREEPORT HARBOR WHERE A TAXI RIDE TO CIVILIZATION WAS $50 EACH ROUND TRIP. ACTUAL CRUISE TIME WAS ONE NIGHT TO FREEPORT HARBOR, 8 HOURS FOR EXCURSION (SHIP HAD PROBLEMS DISEMBARKING) ONE NIGHT RETURN TO WEST PALM.IN THE END THE TRIP COSTS WERE DOUBLE THE ORIGINAL AND TRAVEL AGENCY WAS VERY COMBATTIVE AFTER THEY GOT THEIR MONEY. TRIP WAS SUPPOSED TO HAVE A 2 YEAR WINDOW ACTUAL GRACE PERIOD WAS 18 MONTHS AND REQUIRED ADDITIONAL MONIES..
NEVER TAKE A TRIP WITH THIS COMPANY OR CRUISE SHIP.. IT IS A SCAM AND IS TOTAL RIPOFF
