Carriers 4 Less - Catala Enterprises LLC Took money to ship car - never picked up Houston Texas
I had a Suburban to pick up in Amarillo TX at the Copart auction and contacted Carlos with Catala Enterprises DBA Carriers 4 Less. He said he could have the vehicle picked up the same day (11/21/2013) if we would make a $250 deposit. I had my assistant pay the entire $600.00 quoted price to ship the vehicle from Amarillo TX to West Palm Beach FL that same afternoon so the vehicle would be picked up. I didn't want any reason why they couldn't pick it up.
My assistant called Carlos and told him the $600 had been deposited and was told the timing would be tight on getting to Copart before close but his driver was about 150 miles away and he'd send him. We checked with Copart the following day only to find the Suburban was still there. We tried contacting Carlos the following day to confirm he was still able to pick up the vehicle but he would not answer his phone.
To date, the vehicle has not been picked up and we cannot get Carlos to answer a call from any number we have called from previously. The only way we can get a call answered is to use a phone with a different area code. If we do get through, he will usually hang up. I did have luck calling from a Houston number only to hear a story that he needed to have power of attorney to pick up the vehicle. Copart only requires the buyer to have power of attorney on file and it was and still is. He has had all the information he needed from the beginning.
We cannot get our money back or the Suburban picked up. Additionallym, this has cost us $160 in storage from Copart from 11/22-11/29 at $20/day. After he took the money and didn't get the car, I checked the DOT number and MC number he had listed on the Dispatch Control site he uses only to find they are either expired or inactive with the DOT. Hard lesson to learn.
