Carson Dodge Chrysler Ripoff, Alleged Falsified Vechicle Inspection Report and Refusal to correct issue. Carson City Nevada
I Purchased a Used Chevy S-10 4x4 from Carson Dodge Chrysler @ 3059 south carson street on Feb 13 2007.
The dealerships "Inspection & Disclosure" Required By the State of Nevada (NRS 482.36667) Says all is fine with the truck with exception of the oil drain plug/oil pan,"Very small seep".
I drove the truck home after purchasing it & left the next day for a family funeral,leaving the truck parked in my drive way.I arived home a week later to find a puddle of oil under the truck. I imedietly looked under it & saw the leak(NOT COMMING FROM THE DRAIN PLUG/OIL PAN).
I then took the Truck to Jiffy Lube & again to Big-o-Tires where upon inspection BOTH Facilities told me & printed out what I already knew by looking myself, that it was the Rear Main Engine seal leaking & that any mechanic that passed High School Auto shop would have known this.
I refered to the "Inspection Disclosure" *****FIVE STAR VEHICLE INSPECTION*****that states in part [3.Under vehicle inspection] That the Rear main seal is "ok".
I then called the dealer & asked for my sales person who told me to bring the truck down & talk to the used car manager & that they would "work with me".
I drove the 35 miles from my home in reno back to the dealship & intoduced myself to Todd the Used car manager to whom I explained the issue.He proceded to tell my flatly "You bought this vechicle as is." I stated I bought the vehicle "as is" trusting the dealerships NRS 482.36667 Five Star Inspection was correct & truthful.To wich the used car manager stated "Well then let me show you this." He walks off & digs in a pile of papers on a desk & produces the Nevada DMV "AS IS" law,wich I had never before been shown,asked to initial,or otherwise informed of, & smiles,He was SMILING!!!...
Long story short: The used Truck will cost me the price of the loan + $1000 to repair according to the Reno CHEVY dealership & Mooney's Automotive because the transmission has to be removed to install the new seal...
The Used car manager at Carson Dodge Chrysler flat out refused to do anything at all about it & was blatently flippant & non-caring about an alleged falsified NRS 482.36667 written disclosure from their sevice department. This says to me, NEVER DO BUSINESS WITH CARSON DODGE CHRYSLER.

After I contacted the DMV & BBB & Local Att Gen & Ripoff Report, Carson Dodge Chrysler's General Manager contacted me very willing to rectify the matter. Long story short, I just dropped off my "loaner vehicle & picked up my newly repaired (for free) vehicle. Proof that the BBB,DMV,your local Att Gen & Ripoff Report DO actually make business stand up & take notice once in a while. Thank you,
