I have received to calls very similar to what you describe after applying with an online lender, one claiming that I had taken out a loan from Cash Advance USA, the other claiming that I had gotten a loan from Payday Fast Cash. I had never had any dealings with, or even heard of either of these companies prior to these "collection calls". My suggestion would be to contact Lending Tree and advise them to cease and desist the sharing and/or selling of your personal and financial information. These calls are blatant attempts and fraud and identity theft! When I requested documentation of the loans and court affidavits I was told that they would not provide that information. One caller actually told me it was illegal for him to provide me a copy of the court affidavit, which is FALSE! You have a right to copies of any and all documentation obtained for use against you in legal action! If they refuse to provide you with this information it is a dead give away that the call is a phishing scam. The groups/companies/scam artists that make these calls obtain personal information from legitimate companies under false pretense and make calls in hopes of finding someone they can get more information from so they can steal money and identities.
