I've used used phone purchase companies before ((((competitor's name redacted))) is great, they sent me a check for the exact amount they quoted me) so I thought I knew what I would get and/or expect.

Cashforiphones is a complete rip-off!

Cashforiphones promised me $217 for my pink iPhone 5C, which was less than 6 months old, in mint condition. I also included the original packaging and the phone charger kit.  I'd purchased the phone for $450, most I'd ever paid for a phone and kept it meticulously.

I trusted Cashforiphones and didn't see it coming that they were not an honorable company (I'm naive, I read their webpage comments from it's previous users, and because of my previous experience with Gazelle, I didn't check any further).  Big mistake-- Huge.

After about two weeks with my phone, they sent me an email stating I they were going to send $13 to my paypal account for my iphone. What? No way.

I tried to phone them but the office was closed.  I'd just received the email (apparently afterhours for them to answer the phone, but not anger their customer base).  I absolutely hate this company for all the anguish they have caused me.

I am currently waiting to hear back from them.  I've sent numerous emails and plan to keep calling until I get my phone back or the $217 I was promised.

A quote is NOT a promise. A quote is just that a quote based on the information YOU have given them. If there was even ONE FLAW it diminishes the actual value. It may have been damaged in shipping or it may have had the flaw when YOU sent it. Either way, they are ONLY going to give you the value THEY think its worth. ONE FLAW is all it takes to get nothing. So before you go blasting them, make sure YOU are not the person who caused said flaw and just didnt tell them about it. By making this post you have made yourself a target for a civil suit if they dont like WHAT you have said. Wile YES you do have the RIGHT to say as you wish, you DO NOT have the right to defame online. Just because FB allows it doesnt mean that the LAW allows it. They already have the phone so they are not going to send it back. Once you accepted the amount in your paypal account you agreed that the amount they paid is what YOU agreed to. While yes it blows chunks, THEY are going to keep said phone because they know YOU wont do anything but whine and complain online. It would cost too much money to take THEM to court and YOU wont take the time needed to get your property back. Its all in the fine print of the paperwork YOU AGREED TO when YOU hit the accept tab. Learn from it and move on, or just continue to cry online because THAT is the only REAL option you have.
