4/25/12  Today I applied for a personal loan with Cash Loans in Nashville, TN--Church Street Location.  The person I initially spoke with over the phone, Sara, sounded nice and seemed very helpful.  She took all of my information and told me to give her a call back in about an hour.  When I called back, she said that they were still verifying; however, there may be a problem because I was out of their service area.  There are other stores closer to where I live and work. I contacted them because a friend recommended them.  She said that her manager was on the phone and she would check with her and call me back in about 15-20min.  After not receiving a call for about 45min, I called them back.  Sara answered the phone and asked if I would hold.  No problem.  A couple of minutes later another woman picks up the phone.

"This is ___ (I think her name was Donna or something like that) the manager can I help you with something?"  In a VERY rude manner.

Me:  "I was holding for Sara."

Manager:  "Well Sara is busy.  Do you need help with something?"

Me:  "I put in an application earlier and was checking the status"

Manager:  "We wont be able to help you" 

Me"  "Why not?"

Manager:  "Sara already told you why"  Still VERY rude

Me:  "No.  She told me that you were on the phone and she had to check with you and would call me back in 15-20min.  Its been about 45min so I am calling back"

Manager:  "Well we are busy.  You are out of out service range" 

Again very rude as if it were my fault that they did not say this when the application was taken, there were other stores closer to me, and they did not give me a call back.  I just disconnected the call....

If this is the kind of service they provide, I am so happy NOT to do business with them!!!

Okay so they were rude? ANd for that you think you were ripped off? Or Scammed? Listen we have all dealt with and been both the giver and receiver of rudeness. You cannot change that person on the phone, There is a hangup feature for a reason. Simply show a better level of civility. Someday when you are the "better" person, it does rub off on others. I gotta a good feeling you are just the one to be the better person when dealing with anyone rude. Move on and make them earn your business! Good Luck

Thanks for your response; however, the denial is not the problem.  The issue was managements rude behavior.  The loan was denied because I do not live in their coverage area.

You will receive a letter in the mail for the reason for denial, provided they pulled a credit report. Check your credit report, it will show there as well. You may be behind the eight ball and not know it. But then again they are at liberty to decline provided its due to legitimate and non discriminatory reasons.
As an adult I am sure you'll objectively get resolution to the real question , which is why the denial when you are in Excellent credit standings. Could you be a risk at all? Maybe you can use this as an opportunity to see if there is inaccurate reportings on your credit reports? Just an idea.
